For more than 150 years farmers, botanists, gardeners and conservationists, all with huge vision and foresight, have helped make Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush the internationally recognized native botanic garden, and huge community asset we know today. Come for a wander in their footsteps and share their legacies with Trustee Kathy Ombler.

You’ll follow easy paths and gentle tracks during this walk, making it suitable for most visitors. Sensible walking shoes are recommended for comfort and stability. The event goes ahead rain or shine, so come prepared—please note there are no refunds. The meeting point is Tāne Whakapiripiri (Ōtari visitor centre).
