Event Description
Come along and visit Wellington’s central city urban farm!
Tucked behind the hospital, they make compost from city food scraps that they haul in on e-bikes and demonstrate organic regenerative horticulture that cares for te taiao (nature), te whenua (the land) and te tangata (the people).
They’ll have staff onsite to show you around, or you are welcome to explore the māra and ask questions at your own speed.
They will have official farm tours at 10am and 12noon and you are welcome to drop by anytime between 10am – 2pm.
They’ll have a station where you can pot up a seedling to take back to your own garden and a do it yourself scavenger hunt for tamariki.
Kaicycle is wheelchair accessible and they have a portaloo available on site. Please note that they do have beehives on site.
They have no dedicated farm parking as all the parking on Hospital Road is for hospital staff. They recommend walking, cycling, or bussing where possible (the nearest bus-stop is outside Woolworths Newtown).
